Day 51: Yaquina Head

On the coast of Oregon in the city of Newport there is a lighthouse at Yaquina Head.  Oregon's tallest lighthouse, at 93 feet, is situated on a little strip of landing jutting out into the Pacific Ocean.  When we went it was rather windy and I was cold.

There was a nice lighthouse and then on a little island just off the coast there were a ton of seabirds.

The lighthouse built in 1872

There were some really cool rocks.  They were really smooth.  There was also a really cool tide pool which, depending on the how high the tide was, different sea animals would be beached.  We went at a time when the tide was receding and so there were plenty of creatures that were exposed.  It was cool to see.
