Day 60: Vilnius

This picture was taken on the balcony at Jimmy Jumps Hostel in Vilnius, Lithuania.  The hostel was in the middle of Old Town.  It was really cool to see the houses together but I didn't feel claustrophobic.  It was cool.  It also helped that I didn't have a car and was just walking around.  Now looking at the picture it kind of looks like a place that James Bond or some other action actor would jump on top of chasing after some other guy.

Day 34: Trakai

 

These pictures were taken November 2012.  There is a little city, Trakai, that is a (relatively) short bus ride away from Vilnius, Lithuania.  It was really cool to see this castle there.   It was unfortunate that we didn't get to go when it was light but at least I got a couple pictures.  The picture below kind of showed the pathway we went on.  But then we realized that that pathway went the wrong way so then we turned around.
When we first got to the castle it was all dark and hadn't been lit up yet.  We were very disappointed then.  But then as we were walking away the lights turned on and we saw the majesty that was this castle.  We weren't able to go inside because there was no one there that we could see.  But the castle has probably been there since the 1500's.
